I took this macro photograph of a cicada killer (aka Sphecius speciosus) in my back yard tonight.   She was frantically trying to fly from one end of my yard to the other carrying a paralyzed cicada as she flew.  She finally became so exhausted that she dropped the cicada and stopped to rest on a fence when I took her portrait.
